History Facts & Stories on Instagram: "Old animations like this 1932 Disney short “Flowers and Trees” were made by hand. Artists sketched keyframes, then in-between frames on paper. Drawings were traced onto transparent cels, painted with inks, and layered over painted backgrounds. Each frame was photographed one by one on film using a multiplane camera for depth. It took thousands of drawings for a short film!"
